At CES 2025, Sony Honda Mobility unveiled the AFEELA 1 Signature.

Sony Honda Mobility's newly launched brand, AFEELA, is set to start selling its inaugural vehicle, the AFEELA 1, to customers in California later this year.

Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc. (SHMA) announced a partnership with Crash Champions, one of the largest networks of automotive collision repair centers in the U.S., to deliver maintenance and repair services for its mobility brand, AFEELA.

Announced at CES 2025, the collaboration establishes Crash Champions as the sole provider of all-encompassing repair and maintenance services for AFEELA vehicles. This initiative taps into their broad network of I-CAR Gold Class collision repair centers. The goal is to offer AFEELA owners a seamless, one-stop service experience via a specialized mobile application.

“We are delighted to offer safe, high-quality, and convenient vehicle maintenance and repair services through our partnership with Crash Champions,” said Shugo Yamaguchi, president and CEO of Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc. “Sony Honda Mobility is committed to building a robust service structure and a new customer experience by establishing a value chain with various partners to ensure that our customers can use AFEELA with peace of mind.”

AFEELA customers will now have the opportunity to utilize authorized Crash Champions locations for a variety of auto care services, such as routine maintenance, vehicle repairs, and collision repairs. The integration of a mobile app as part of this partnership will significantly improve convenience, allowing customers to schedule appointments, access personalized services, and make payments effortlessly from their devices.

This groundbreaking collaboration aligns with the introduction of the AFEELA brand in California, marking its launch in the United States.
After exhibiting a prototype at CES 2024, SHMA showcased the AFEELA 1 Signature, a four-door sedan, to visitors at this year’s CES.

AFEELA 1 is set to be manufactured at a Honda facility located in Ohio. Sales for customers in California are slated to start this year, with deliveries anticipated to commence in 2026.

AFEELA 1 will be offered in two different trims, with starting prices of $89,900 for the Origin model and $102,900 for the Signature model. These prices come with a complimentary three-year subscription that covers specific functionalities and features.

Online reservations through the AFEELA website are now open with a fully refundable reservation fee of $200.

While driving my Tesla Cybertruck at 45 mph on the highway at night, it unexpectedly shut down. With no hazard lights on, I was frozen in fear as car after car narrowly missed crashing into the back of my truck.

A Cybertruck owner shares his unnerving experience after his truck suddenly cut power and came to a screeching halt in the middle of the highway. Bryan, a resident of Southern California and owner of a Cybertruck, reported that his vehicle unexpectedly shut down and became entirely unresponsive while he was driving on the highway. At first, his truck sputtered, lurched unexpectedly, and came to a sudden halt while he was driving at 45 miles per hour on the highway.  Experiencing a sudden loss of power in his vehicle was already a frustrating ordeal for Bryan, but it turned out to be just the beginning of a series of challenges he would face. When Bryan's Cybertruck unexpectedly came to a halt in the fast lane, he attempted to maneuver it to the roadside. Unfortunately, this only aggravated the situation, leaving his Cybertruck immobilized and possibly trapping him in the middle of the highway. Luckily, Brayn managed to free himself from the truck by utilizing the manual door release for the Cybertruck. With the Cybertruck completely drained of power, the hazard lights extinguished as well. Bryan was navigating the road at night, making it difficult for approaching drivers to notice his Cybertruck stranded in the roadway. Bryan recounts a terrifying experience where, without the hazard lights on, he watched in disbelief as vehicle after vehicle nearly collided with the back of his Cybertruck. Ultimately, Bryan came across a few traffic cones and attached a flashlight to them, alerting approaching vehicles about his disabled Cybertruck. Luckily, even though the circumstances were dire, Bryan's Cybertruck remained unscathed and was not hit from behind by another car while it was stuck in the road. Having encountered this problem personally, Bryan recommends that all Cybertruck owners keep a flashlight or flares handy, just in case they face a similar predicament. Bryan shared his ordeal in the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. This is what he composed… "It could be beneficial and potentially life-saving...keep reading. Just two days ago, my truck notified me that it needed servicing (error code UI_a006). Unfortunately, the code didn’t give me much detail, and all I could do was book a service appointment, which is scheduled for two weeks from now." I kept driving the truck, and about 18 miles down the road, suddenly, the pyro fuse for the rear inverter exploded, causing the truck to lurch violently. It came to an abrupt halt and refused to budge. This situation was incredibly perilous, as I found myself in the fast lane of a 45-mph road at 5:30 a.m., when it was still dark outside. After attempting to get the truck to react, it unexpectedly shut down completely, leaving it unresponsive and even turning off the hazard lights. I had to exit using the manual door handle override, make my way to the side of the road, and witness vehicle after vehicle nearly collide with the stationary truck. I gathered a few traffic cones, placed a flashlight on top of them, and kept my fingers crossed to avert any mishaps. After a wait of 25 minutes, the tow truck finally showed up. We quickly pulled the vehicle out of the traffic lane and headed off to the service center. Certainly, the service center mentioned that this issue has become quite prevalent among these Cybertrucks, and they assured me that it will be resolved in just a few days. We'll wait and see… If you own a dual-motor Cybertruck and haven't encountered this situation yet, it's wise to keep flashlights, flares, or other emergency items on hand for nighttime incidents. I found this situation challenging, as I couldn't utilize the front motor for low-speed driving, which many have reported. Beneath his post, Bryan shared a series of images. The initial two depict his Cybertruck being loaded onto a tow truck during the night, right in the middle of the street.  In the third image, an error message appears on his display, prompting him to arrange a service appointment. The last image depicts his central touch screen blinking red, signaling him to safely pull over due to the detection of a serious problem. A Cybertruck stranded in the middle of the road at night, without any hazard lights flashing, creates a truly unsettling scenario. Sadly, judging by the comments, it seems that Bryan isn't the only one facing this predicament. Multiple Cybertruck owners chimed in, sharing that they have encountered the same issue. A Cybertruck owner hailing from Orange County, California, replied to Bryan's post, stating... "Definitely sounds like a common issue since mine failed a couple of weeks back as well. My service center had the replacement part ready when I got there. I was driving on the freeway when I felt a thud, just like others have described, and then the alert 'DI_a139 Rear motor disabled - OK to drive' popped up right away. I brought it to the service center the following day and got it back about four days later." A different Cybertruck owner, Don based in Sacramento, California, shared, “My inverter malfunctioned and was swapped out on October 3rd. The following day, Tesla issued a service bulletin regarding the inverter problem.” Some may find it shocking to witness multiple Cybertrucks unexpectedly lose power while driving. Nonetheless, this is a known problem, and Tesla had already initiated a recall for it two months prior. Regrettably, it seems that the electric vehicle manufacturer has not managed to resolve this problem in all the vehicles impacted. Many Cybertruck owners have expressed their concerns in the comments, stating that they are hesitant to drive their vehicles due to this widespread issue impacting numerous trucks. In Bryan's situation, despite Tesla identifying a potential imminent failure, the electric vehicle manufacturer could only arrange his service appointment for two weeks later. 2026 Hyundai Staria Electric Minivan Aims to Compete with VW ID. Buzz

The Staria Electric may be equipped with a 215 horsepower electric motor and an 800V system designed for ultra-rapid charging capabilities. The new Staria Electric will likely use Hyundai’s latest 84 kWh battery pack. Hyundai is expected to sell the EV in its home market as well as in Europe, Australia, and Thailand. Production of the new model could kick off in mid-2026. The Hyundai Staria family will soon welcome a new all-electric member. Hyundai already offers passenger and panel-van versions of the model, in ICE and a hybrid form, but now it’s the time to add an all-electric derivative into the mix. This particular prototype was snapped at a parking lot in South Korea without an inch of camouflage, providing us with an unimpeded look at its design. Unsurprisingly, it looks mostly identical to existing models in the Staria range but does have a distinctive front end. The Staria Electric does not need a front grille that stretches across almost its entire width. Instead, the EV gets a tiny grille in the middle of the bumper that’s no bigger than a license plate. Positioned next to this grille is the charging port while located towards the base of the bumper are two additional – and equally small – air vents. The main headlamps used by the Staria Hybrid appear identical to those found on the hybrid model, meaning they’re a little larger than the ICE models. View pictures in App save up to 80% data. These photos from Clien also show the prototype’s two-tone paint scheme, with a silver lower half and a black upper half and top. The all-electric Hyundai ST1 and the related Iveco eMoovy LCVs, both based on the Staria, that were unveiled last year may provide us with some insight about the upcoming Staria Electric. No technical details about the electric minivan have been confirmed at this stage, but it could feature a single electric motor putting out 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, just like the ST1 and eMoovy. Moreover, the LCVs’ 800V architecture supports ultra-fast charging and V2L functions. Chances are it will also be equipped with Hyundai’s fourth-generation battery pack. Those from the community who addressed the council were unanimously in favor of the city endorsing the event.  Rally enthusiasts highlighted the event's clear economic benefits for local enterprises and emphasized the perks of maintaining a well-established tradition that attracts attendees from beyond Hollister.  Mike Corbin, the founder of Corbin Motorcycle Saddles located in Hollister, expressed his gratitude to the council for their consideration of hosting a rally in 2025.  Corbin remarked, "The previous motorcycle rallies in Hollister were all organized with a strong sense of cooperation."  Corbin and other analysts remarked that the city should not anticipate significant turnout for this year's rally, primarily due to the limited time available for organizing and advertising the event ahead of July 4.
