The LG G5 has been officially revealed at CES 2025 as part of LG 2025 OLED TV lineup. As the successor to the LG G4, one of 2024's best OLED TVs, the G5 has received several upgrades including higher brightness, new gaming features and more. There's even been a surprising change regarding its panel.
We were thoroughly impressed with the LG G5's predecessor, the LG G4, which earned five out of five stars in our LG G4 review thanks to its spectacular picture quality, full suite of gaming features and impressive built-in sound. It was easily one of the best TVs released last year, so needless to say we have high hopes for the LG G5.
In the following sections, we will examine all the information that has been verified regarding the LG G5, as well as the details that remain uncertain. As of now, we lack confirmation on both the pricing and the launch date, but we will continue to investigate these aspects.

At the time of writing, we don't have any information on release dates or pricing for the LG G5 OLED TV. However, based on past trends, we can take an educated guess at what this information will be.
When LG announced the pricing for the LG G4 in February and April 2024 for the US and UK markets respectively, we initially felt let down, as nearly all versions of the G4 saw a price hike compared to the previous model, the LG G3. The launch prices for the LG G4 were set as follows:
- OLED55G4: $2,599 / £2,399 / AU$4,199
- OLED65G4: $3,399 / £3,299 / AU$5,299
- OLED77G4: $4,599 / £4,490 / AU$7,999
- OLED83G4: $6,499 / £7,000 / AU$9,999
- OLED97G4: $24,999 / £24,999
Before the official pricing details came out, we speculated that the LG G4 would see a price hike due to inflation, and it turns out we were right. Given this trend, we anticipate a similar increase for the LG G5. Fortunately, the G4 was priced approximately $100 higher per model than the G3 at launch, so we can only hope that the LG G5 follows suit.
Regarding the G5's newly introduced 48-inch model, it is expected to be the most affordable option in the lineup. However, it is still unclear how much less expensive it will be compared to the 55-inch variant.
Drawing from historical trends, we anticipate that the LG G5 will be unveiled in March or April this year, as LG has consistently launched its TVs during this timeframe in previous years.
As we have only made assumptions regarding the release dates and pricing mentioned earlier, we will promptly update this page once we receive official information on pricing and release dates.
LG G5 OLED电视:特点

It is confirmed that the LG G5 will come in various sizes, featuring 55, 65, 77, 83, and 97-inch options, along with a new 48-inch model – marking the debut of LG's flagship OLED in this smaller size.
There have been several upgrades and changes to the LG G5 compared to its predecessor the LG G4. The G5 introduces 4K 165Hz refresh rate support – perfect for PC gaming – as well as still supporting VRR (AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync included) as well as Dolby Vision gaming across four HDMI 2.1 ports, a feature list up there with the best gaming TVs. A quick note – the LG G5 will not support 165Hz and Dolby Vision at the same time.
The G5 is set to receive a significant enhancement in its brightness capabilities. It will incorporate Brighter Booster Ultimate, a technology also found in the higher-end LG M5. According to LG, this upgrade will enable the G5 to achieve a peak brightness that is three times greater than that of the LG B5. However, we still await concrete details on the exact brightness levels we can anticipate.
One of the most interesting brightness boosts however comes to its fullscreen brightness which, while not the flashiest upgrade, is important. LG says the G5 will have 40% higher fullscreen brightness than the LG G4. We measured the G4's fullscreen brightness at 257 nits in Filmmaker Mode. Based on LG's claim, we can expect the G5 to hit 350 nits fullscreen brightness – a significant upgrade that could make the G5 a better fit for brighter rooms.
In a fascinating turn of events, the LG G5 will achieve significant brightness enhancements without relying on micro-lens-array (MLA) technology in its OLED display, as LG has chosen to forgo this specific brightness enhancement method in its 2025 lineup. Instead, the company has introduced an innovative 'four stack' OLED panel, which LG claims, paired with Brightness Booster Ultimate, will allow the G5 to reach its peak brightness like never before.

Instead of launching a completely new processor like in previous years, LG has enhanced the Alpha 11 AI processor found in the G4 to the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 2 in the LG G5. This updated version retains familiar AI functionalities such as AI Picture Wizard, which now offers tailored picture profiles for individual users, along with Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro. Additionally, it features AI Sound Wizard, which enhances audio quality to 11.1.2 channels, similar to the G4.
A significant enhancement in the G5 is its smart TV platform, prominently featuring AI technology under the name 'LG AI TV'. Among the new AI capabilities are AI Search, a sophisticated content discovery tool, AI Recommendation, which offers personalized suggestions for each user and adapts based on voice commands, and AI Concierge, which curates recommendations according to the user's past viewing habits.
Another exciting AI capability being launched is the LG AI Art feature. This allows users to create unique artworks through AI technology, utilizing credits that can be bought separately.

LG's G-series OLED televisions have primarily been designed for wall mounting, which is why each model in this series comes with a custom, slim-fit wall mount included in the package. Prior to the release of the LG G4 in 2024, customers had to buy a stand separately if they preferred not to mount their TV. However, with the introduction of the LG G4, some models began to include both a stand and a wall mount, providing buyers with more versatile design choices.
Unfortunately, LG has decided for 2025 that none of the LG G5 models will ship with a stand, harking back to the days of the LG G3 in 2023. An optional stand will be available again, for an additional charge.
Are you prepared for a new transformation? LG is introducing its AI Remote to replace the traditional remote that has been included with most LG TVs. This new remote features a sleek, minimalist design and includes dedicated buttons for AI and Accessibility, while the numbered buttons have been eliminated. The AI Remote will come bundled with LG TVs in the US, Korea, and additional markets, but it will not be offered in specific areas, such as the UK, where users will continue to use the classic Magic Remote for the time being.

Although we have received confirmation regarding the LG G5's updated display, enhanced processor, additional features, and various sizes, there are still several details that remain unclear.
Certainly, one of the crucial details we're anticipating is the pricing and release dates, which we should receive in the next few weeks.
LG has not officially announced the sound specifications for the G5. The G4 featured a 4.2 speaker system with a power output of 60W, which was also the case for the previous model, the LG G3. Is it possible that LG will introduce an upgrade for the G5, or will they continue to rely on this established setup?
We found the G4's sound to be pretty good overall, but still found buying one of the best soundbars the best way to go, as the G4 couldn't quite match up to the likes of the Panasonic Z95A and Sony Bravia 8 – two of the best TVs for sound.
